Desmond Brown

Desmond is the founder,director, and driving force behind Growing Futures UK C.I.C and has worked and lived in Bristol since 2012. Born in Zambia, and, spending his formative years as a toddler in Mandaville Jamacia, he has worked for over 10 years across various DWP/JCP contracts within the welfare 2 work sector and has a wealth of experience delivering front line Advice and Guidance, engaging workshops and motivational sessions across the country to challenging and often vulnerable people.Desmond arrived in Bristol working on the new Troubled Family Contract across the city. In 2014 Desmond founded Growing Futures, developing programmes of Eco therapy, skills training and physical activites for disadvantaged communities across Bristol. In 2017 Desmond set up and chaired the Justice for Judah campaign, and currently sits on the PCC scrutiny of Police use of force panel, CPS scrutiny panel and is a member of the Preventing Gangs and Street Conflict strategy group.
Desmond has worked and lived in diverse communities from Gode, Ethithopia to Mojacar, Spain and many places in between.
Desmond is a father of three, a seasoned and passionate advocate for Race and Equality in Bristol.
