Robishia Temple

Robishia is a final year student of the University of the West of England, studying a joint honours degree in Business and Human Resource Management. Currently she is in the final stages of a research project, focusing on the role HR plays in racial inequality across workplaces in the United Kingdom.

Through various mentoring and volunteering positions, over the past 6 years Robishia has played an active role within youth communities in the South West of England. In recent years this has largely focused on supporting vulnerable young adults into independent living.  Additionally, during a recent trip to South India, Robishia was able to gain an important insight to the role of women in Indian society and witness first-hand how the unison of a community can be a force of great change.

Although one of the youngest commissioners, Robishia has genuine passion for making a memorable difference in the Bristol community. A city she was raised in and has grown to love is often noted as a cultural melting pot and yet cannot ignore the lack of inclusion and equality many of us still face. Robishia hopes to encourage the new generation to play an active role within the community and ensure that implemented changes in the next two years pave the way for many.
