Summita Hutchison

​

Sumita is dedicated to social change and equality. She is one of the founding members of the Race Equality Commission.

Sumita started her career in the law initially working for Rights of Women and the United Nations. She then practiced as an employment solicitor for seven years before working in equalities in the police. She is currently a social care commissioner and a Non-Executive Director for Bristol Community Health.

She believes that every person has the potential to experience a fulfilling life as part of a more  enlightened world. As well as social activism she practices Isha yoga, sharing this with others by regularly presenting on BBC Radio Bristol Thought for the Day and running city-wide yoga sessions.
